The Indigenous #indigenous #history #nature
“Many tribal peoples believe that the earth is perishing because the sacred ways of their cultures are dying or are lost, these traditions have kept the world in balance and protected the earth”
“it’s not about living wild but free”
(The fruitful darkness: a journey through Buddhist practice ) Joan Halifax
They lived in harmony with nature within these ecosystems, us civilised people just bull dozed it down fracturing (destroying) these natural systems (that we need for survival) so we can fulfil our selfish desires of living outside of nature in a material world of consumerism, power and greed.
I have always been drawn to the #indigenous people from all around the world because of their hearts, community, oneness and relationship with the earth and the unseen- Jade (organicmatter)
Jocelyn Mercado explains this well:
“The indigenous worldview is based in the belief that everything has a spirit: Trees, rivers, the Earth, lightning, insects, rocks, animals, flowers … everything. Each living (and even non-living) being has its own energy that it lends to the health and wholeness of the planet. When we lose one ecosystem, or one species, the totality of the planet will never be the same again.”
“Humans must cultivate a relationship with everything—reaching out with strong personal intention toward all aspects of life and nature—in order to connect with the Earth and help it heal.”
