“Living separate is hell being one is life” Soho
Being born in Australia with a mixed English background there wasn’t a strong sense of community or culture growing up for me.
For many years of my life I searched for meaning, for who I was in this world and like so many of us I felt lost and like I didn’t belong.
I longed for community (to be connected) I thought I found it in religion until I woke up (saw the light) and my beliefs crumbled, there was a feeling of separation and aloneness.
There are many negative aspects of organised religion and some good, if I didn’t go through that experience I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Over the years before and after religion I delved into various books and teachings on Buddhism, Hinduism, New age and their practices trying to find inner peace.
Earlier this year I had a realisation (an ah haa moment) that we are all connected there is no seperation.
We are one with the universe and the universe is within
Being one and the same“I am you and you are me” adyashanti
Like a mirror we are reflections of the cosmos
Being separate was just a false reality created by my mind.
“Who we think we are [is an artificial reality] we think we only exist inside the body [like a prisoner] feeling like we don’t belong to our outside environment [and the universe] leaving us feeling [separate] alone and Isolated” Allan Watts
“Awakening from the illusion of our separateness” David Loy
“Our sense of being separate from others is a psychosocial construct, composed of habitual ways of thinking, feeling and acting. The construction of a “me” inside is also the construction of an external, objective world experienced as outside”- David Loy
