Preparation for Our Death
Preparation for Our Death #perception #transformation #mindfulness
We think of death as a horrible thing that most of us are afraid of, death the cessation of life, associated with decay, demise, the end, parting from this world like a vapour.
We dance with the reaper tip toeing around the inevitable but no matter what we do its coming for us, weather we like it or not!
We must accept death (see it as a transformation) embrace it because noone leaves this world alive.
No one can control this, avoid it, or stop it from happening as much as we try to we grasp and cling to our lives trying to postpone this, what a horrible and desperate way to live, but most of us do it!
I kinda joke around saying when I’m old and on deaths door I would like to walk out into the wilderness and give up my body to nature but who knows what the future holds I could die suddenly, I know its a bit morbid but its reality and good to think about.
As the Buddha said “the root of suffering is attachment” [we are attached to this life and our bodies]
“When a man knows how to die to each moment, to the past he knows how to die” [he embraces it]
“Death is your own, you die only once, it is coming be prepared by dying to the past and be present in the moment” –Soho
